96 points/'Le Coup de Coeur,' La Revue du Vin de France: "In contrast, Vaillons seduces with its aromatic finesse and roundness on the palate, inherited from deep, marly soil. (2026)"

92-95 points Kristaps Karklins (Wine Advocate): "Informed by deeper soil than Séchet, the 2023 Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons opens from the glass with aromas of honeysuckle, white peach, tangerine and smoke. Extroverted, full-bodied and textural, with a chalky grip and saline finish, Vaillons is more open-knit than its neighbor Séchet. However, this youthful charm can be deceitful, as, based on my experience enjoying this cuvée 10 or even 15 years after harvest, it always richly rewards patience. (3/6/25)"

91-94 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Lemon and lime in colour, classic dry style of Chablis. Entirely white fruit on the palate, no more flesh than Séchet, all about the backbone and the length, which is superb. Marly limestone makes the finish says Vincent. (Jun 2024)"

93+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "Though Vaillons lies right next to Séchet, it is a decidedly warmer microclimate and the wines always show a bit more mid-palate amplitude as a result. Vincent Dauvissat’s 2023 Vaillons is absolutely stellar, delivering a complex aromatic constellation pear, tart orange pink grapefruit, anise, a beautiful foundation of limestone minerality, orange zest and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and really shows a superb core of fruit, with lovely soil signature, a fine girdle of racy acidity, laser-like focus and a very long, complex and seamlessly balanced finish. This too will demand a few years in the cellar to blossom, but it is going to be a gorgeous bottle of premier cru. 2028-2060. (Jan/Feb 2025)"

93 points Charles Curtis, MW (Decanter): "The 2023 Vaillons from Dauvissat has a fresh, lemony snap on the initial attack and hints at something more decadent, such as fresh almond and hawthorn flowers. The vibrant acidity on the palate enlivens the wine and drives it to a dynamic finish. The grapes for this bottling are from the lieux-dits Châtains and Beugnons, part of the Vaillons umbrella appellation, on the left bank; Dauvissat explains that the soil here is deeper marl, which he feels gives more concentration. Although the Vaillons bottling is often seen as richer than Séchet (also part of Vaillons), here it loses none of the characteristic Dauvissat finesse. Drinking Window: 2028-2050. (5/23/24)"

93 points Christy Canterbury, MW (TimAtkin.com): "Made from old vine fruit in Chatains and Beugnons, this shines with juicy pit fruits dappled with savory spice. Tingly acidity balances the broad-shouldered core packed with ripe fruits. A savory, cheesy note meshes into the lengthy finish. Very Dauvissat, very stylish. (2025)"

91-93 points/'Sweet spot/Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from one-third Beugnons and two-thirds Châtains). A more elegant nose is comprised by notes of white pepper, mineral reduction and more evident floral nuances along with an array of classic Chablis nuances, especially iodine and shrimp shell. This is at once slightly bigger but also a bit racier than the Séchet with excellent delineation and minerality that adds a sense of lift to the sneaky long, well-balanced and appealing dry finale. Lovely. Drink: 2030+. (Oct 2024)"
