WHWC Staff Notes: "Pale greenish gold. The nose is subtle on first pour. But once it gets some air, it opens to reveal classic Sauvignon Blanc aromas yet without aggressive herbaceousness. On the palate there's citrus, of course (lime pith, certainly, and a little mandarin orange. But there's an extra dimension: stone fruits such as peach and even nectarine. In terms of mouth feel, this Réserve bottling is a bit rounder and more supple than the entry-level Sancerre, but there's a fine wire of acidity through its core to provide energy and lift." -David Russell, 5/13/25
Importer notes: "From selected parcels on south-facing slopes in Verdigny, this platinum-edged Sancerre unfurls with striking aromas of ripe green apples and baked pears, fresh white flowers, and lemongrass – along with suggestions of lavender, cassis, boxwood, and jasmine, all moving in and out of the foreground as the wine evolves in the glass. On the palate, the wine is sapid and generous – at the same time fine and elegant – with a delicately spicy core of flavors including lime zest, green mango, and Asian pear, all seasoned with chalky minerality that persists through the long, elegant finish."
