94 points Decanter: "Historically, from the younger vines on the property, which at this point are well over 10 years of age. It's the freshest and most approachable wine, made for early drinking, but still has the thread-line of Dalla Valle's structure, integrity, and ageability. The Cabernet Franc comes from the blocks lower down the hillside, and the Petit Verdot and the Cabernet Sauvignon come from blocks north of the house on the property. 600 cases produced. Yields for the entire property are relatively low. And these are fermented with proprietary yeasts they cultivated from their property. A powerfully structured Oakville red with very pretty upfront aromatics of black-toned fruits, cassis, perfumed dried florals, and elegant cedarwood. It is immensely pleasurable on the palate, with waves of boysenberry and black cherry fruits nuanced by distinctly red-tone soil notes—super granular and pixelated tannins with a long and flavorful finish of bright wild herbs. Maya Dalla Valle, the daughter of founder Naoko Dalla Valle, is the winemaker with Andy Erickson and Michel Rolland consulting, while Edgar Alfaro manages the vineyards. Drinking window 2024-2045 (May 2024)"

92 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2021 Collina Dalla Valle is a joyous wine. Bright, punchy and full of character, the 2021 is flat-out delicious. Crushed red berry fruit, cinnamon, cedar and sweet pipe tobacco coast from the glass. Vibrant acids lend tons of energy and freshness. Collina della Valle has long been one of my favorite wines in this category. The 2021 is an absolute knockout. Best of all, it will drink well with minimal cellaring. Drink: 2024-2036 (Dec 2023)"

91 points Lisa Perrotti-Brown (The Wine Independent): "The 2021 Collina is a blend of equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc with about 5% Petit Verdot. Deep purple-black in color, it struts out of the glass with flamboyant notes of warm cassis, stewed black plums, and boysenberries, with suggestions of rose oil, menthol, pencil shavings, and fragrant earth. Medium to full-bodied, plush, and juicy, it offers a great intensity of expressive black fruit flavors with harmonious acidity and a long, earthy finish. Collina is the earlier-drinking expression of Dalla Valle, which includes a little purchased fruit. Alcohol 14.5%. Drink: 2024-2040. (12/4/23)"
