93 points Luis Gutiérrez (Wine Advocate): "Paler and more delicate than the rosé, the 2018 Brancellao Dos Canotos is ethereal and I'd say a triumph over the catastrophic conditions of the harvest, which gave them the lowest quality grapes they ever saw. This might not be as precise and focused as the 2017, but it's still aromatic and delicate, perfumed, perhaps with more herbal notes, a touch medicinal and balsamic, and the palate is light and ethereal, denoting a less concentrated year. 860 bottles were filled in March 2019 after an élevage of four months in a centenary 670-liter chestnut vat. Drink: 2020-2023. (May 2020)"

Cume do Avia’s Brancellao is dainty, thin framed, soft spoken and subtly powerful. In the glass it smells and tastes of the first red berries of the season, sweet green citrus and bay spice. The palate ceaselessly grows in depth and weight at a constant pace, with a start as light as a darker rosé which evolves into a wine that delivers on complexity and weight, like a fresh, cool vintage red Burgundy from a high elevation site on stony soils.
