98 points James Suckling: "Super aromas of nutmeg, cloves and dried flowers with plums and blackberries. Subtle yet so complex. Full-bodied, tight and integrated with ultra-fine tannins and a beautiful finish. Lasts for minutes. Very, very Cos. Harmony. Texturally marvellous. Drink in 2024. (12/27/18)"

97 points Jane Anson (Inside Bordeaux): "(75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc). A kick and a squeeze of brambled fruit sets the opening notes, and this captures the exuberance of the vintage, slowed down by a slate scrape expression of the tannins, together with cumin, cigar box, crayon and black pepper spice. Well judged, more luscious than many in this corner of the Médoc in 2015 and it works, delivering concentration and ageability. Scores higher than its 2014, unusually for St Estèphe. Michel Reybier owner, Aymeric de Gironde director. Alcohol 13.5%. Drink: 2025-2040. (2/6/25)"

97 points (18.5/20) La Revue du Vin de France: "Fat, full-bodied, rich yet silky on the palate, this is an opulent, charming 2015 that doesn't give the impression of over-playing. (2019)"

96-97 points Michel Bettane & Thierry Desseauve (The World of Fine Wine): "(75% CS, 23.5% M, 1.5% CF; 44hl/ha, 13.4% ABV). Classic Médoc style, with ample and refined fruit typical of this vintage, with notes of cedar wood and soft spices, tension without ruggedness, full of promise. Great vinosity and aging potential. (Issue 52; 2016)"

96 points Jeff Leve (The Wine Cellar Insider): "Full bodied, richly textured and with equal amounts of elegance and power, the wine is loaded with sweet, ripe, dark, red fruits, Asian spice, tobacco, thyme, wet earth, blackberry and cassis. With lush, refined textures and a sweetness to the fruit on the palate, this will be much better with at least one decade of aging. (Mar 2018)"

96 points Wine Enthusiast: "While this wine is rich, it has a classical demeanor, with fine tannins that support but never dominate the ripe black fruits. Full of juicy acidity, it offers black currants and some fine, firm tannins at the end. This will take some time to mature, and the wine will not be ready to drink before 2027. Alcohol 13.5%. (Apr 2018)"

95 points Lisa Perrotti-Brown (Wine Advocate): "The 2015 Cos d'Estournel is composed of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23.5% Merlot and 1.5% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet-purple in color, it offers up black currants, spice cake, warm cherries and plum preserves with touches of chargrill and forest floor. Medium-bodied and very firm with ripe, grainy tannins, it has a good core of earthy fruit, finishing with loads of layers and freshness. Drink: 2022-2042. (Feb 2018)"

95 points Peter Moser (Falstaff): "Dark ruby with purple reflections, subtly lighter at the rim. Distinct toasty aromas, with dark nougat, candied orange zest and delicate blackberry confit. Juicy, touches of red berry, pronounced, savoury tannins and a touch of chocolate on the finish. Still a little aloof, seems a bit over-extracted at the moment and therefore slightly bitter on the finish. Will need some time to develop out of this. (3/14/19)"

94 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2015 Cos d’Estournel is a little recalcitrant and broody on the nose, like it always has been from bottle, unfolding gradually with enticing, quite intense blackberry, pencil box and subtle tobacco scents. The medium-bodied palate immediately impresses by its volume and depth, the new oak neatly embroidered with layers of tightly coiled tobacco and graphite infused fruit whose veins of earthiness betray its origins. Whilst it does not quite deliver the flair and untrammeled ambition of the 2016, this is a very impressive forerunner. Wise owls will afford it a decade bottle age before reaching for the corkscrew. Tasted at the Cos d’Estournel vertical in London. Drink: 2020-2040. (Oct 2018)"

94 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "Easily one of the most successful wine in Saint Estèphe in 2015, Cos d'Estournel is just gorgeous. Elements of exoticism appear on the bouquet, followed by generous black cherry, smoke, leather, licorice, menthol and mocha. Naturally, it will be many years before the 2015 is ready to offer a truly complete drinking experience, but it is superb even in the early going. The 2015 was bottled in July 2017. Drink: 2022-2045. (Feb 2018)"

94 points Jane Anson (Decanter): "Opulent and generous, this is a sexy and confident Cos d’Estournel. After only one year in bottle this already has strong caramel notes. It's more marked by the heat of summer than the 2014, displaying sweet, rich fruit. Although almost accessible today, I predict that it will close down over the next few years. It's very good, so look to drink this in four to five years, and have no worries about it continuing for another decade after that. The wine suggests an evolution in how this château began approaching warm vintages after the 2009 vintage. Drinking Window: 2023-2042. (Jul 2018)"
