94 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "One of the most open and pleasing wines in this vertical the 2007 Barbera d'Alba Cascina Francia is in a real sweet spot right now as it is just beginning to hit its stride. The 2007 is huge and voluptuous on the palate, yet it retains remarkable complexity, nuance and personality. Readers who own the 2007 are in for a treat. This is a stunning wine in a great Barbera vintage. Drink: 2014-2027. (Mar 2014)"

92 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "(15+% alcohol, with 6.8 grams of acid and a pH of 3.45, according to Conterno) Good bright, deep ruby-red. Very ripe but lively aromas of black cherry and violet. Chewy, deep and supersweet, with a texture of liquid velvet to the flavors of cherry, raspberry and chocolate. As ripe as this is, it does not come off as porty. In fact, with its solid acid cut, this really captures the best traits of this vintage for barbera. Very long and suave on the aftertaste. (Nov/Dec 2009)"
