95 points Monica Larner (Wine Advocate): "The Poderi Aldo Conterno 2020 Barolo Bussia is a fine and silky wine with the elegant power that is characteristics of this special cru. The wine shows bright fruit flavors with cherry and blackcurrant followed by earthy iris root and licorice. There is a hint of perfume or church incense. That pretty intensity follows through to the palate with balanced freshness and lasting medium-plus richness. Drink 2026-2045. (Jan 2025)"

94 points Ian D'Agata Wine Review: "Bright red. Apricot, blood orange, cinnamon, nutmeg, candied violet and black pepper on the drop-dead gorgeous nose. Then lively and piercing in the mouth with similar flavours. This is characterized by real penetrance and focus and is one of the best, perhaps even the best, classic Barolo of the vintage. Remarkably good wine: this is most likely the best young Barolo Bussia I have had from Aldo Conterno in the last ten years or so. Very, very well done. Drinking window: 2027-2037. (11/23/24)"

94 points James Suckling: "The nose is attractive, with watermelon, leafy lightness, fresh violets and strawberry fruit. The palate is savory and graceful, with a full body, velvety tannins soaked in peach fruit, juicy acidity and a polished aftertaste. A bracing Barolo with at least 10 years of cellaring potential, yet enjoyable now. (9/16/24)"

94 points Raffaele Vecchione (WinesCritic.com): "Rich in withered red flowers, lemon peel, chopped ginger, wild thyme and oregano, an original version of Bussia in the most elegant and structured vintage for the company. Full body, perfectly ripe tannins, extracted in a gentle and essential way, well smoothed in shape and an expressive and slender finish that asks for a return to the glass. From vineyards of approximately 35 years of age in the single corporate body. Better from 2027. (Nov 2024)"

93 points Wine Spectator: "[$120 list] Starts with cherry and strawberry flavors interwoven with a supple texture. Earth, mineral and hibiscus notes add detail, while solid tannins emerge on the vibrant finish. Showing a mix of elegance and power, this red finishes long. Best from 2027 through 2045. (10/30/24)"

92 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2020 Barolo Bussia is a terrific entry-level offering from the Conterno brothers. Rich, succulent and expressive, the Bussia is everything a wine should be at this level. A burst of dark cherry, plum, spice, new leather, licorice and rose petal makes a strong first impression. Readers will certainly find plenty to like, starting with the wine's sheer appeal. Drink: 2024-2032. (Jan 2025)"
