92 points Bruce Sanderson (Wine Spectator): "Starts out rich and full of pure cherry and raspberry flavors, featuring a sweetness that dissipates as the dusty tannins emerge. Shows a little heat, but finds balance in the end, with sweet fruit and spice notes. Best from 2016 through 2030. 600 cases imported. (12/31/13)"
92 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2009 Barolo Bussia is beautifully focused in this vintage. Freshly cut flowers, spices, mint and rose petals are some of the notes that jump from the glass. In this vintage, the 2009 is unusually fresh, vibrant and delineated. I imagine the 2009 will enjoy a long life, but it should also drink well relatively early. Despite its considerable early appeal, the 2009 has serious depth matched by level of pure energy that is remarkable for the year. With 2009, the Barolo is back to being pure Bussia after a few years in which the blend incorporated a dollop of fruit from the village of Barolo. (May 2013)"
91 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "Moderately saturated medium red. Lovely Burgundian aromas of red cherry, raspberry and rose petal, plus a hint of marzipan. Silky on entry, then fresh and youthful in the mid-palate, with lovely cut and framing acidity to the red fruit and floral flavors. A generous style but wears its elevated alcohol gracefully, finishing with an almost tart cranberry character and lovely lingering perfume. (Nov/Dec 2013)"
91 points James Suckling: "Strawberries, flowers and berries on the nose. Full body with fine tannins that highlight flavors of chocolate and light walnut. Refined and very pretty. Better in 2015. (1/12/14)"
