If planted to Pinot, this can be sold as Volnay Santenots, but Lafon has sold it (since the 19th century) as Meursault Desirée. Initially, the wine is somewhat closed, but with time a ripe pear and quince fruit develops. The texture is soft and lush, almost slightly fat, but there is abundant fruit on the palate.
