94 points Christy Canterbury, MW (TimAtkin.com): "Looking particularly smart in the 2020 vintage, this village wine is named for its lieu-dit, despite it having been wiped off the map by bureaucrats in 1973. Since the domaine had been labelling the wine as Désirée since the late 1800s, the name was grandfathered in. The name appropriately is suggestive of the wine. It's flattering and toothsome with tangy lemon curd, shortbread and a hint of sweetened cream. 2020-30. (2022)"
91-93 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "With the 2020 Meursault Désirée, the "young" vines here have attained their 25th year, and things are starting to get serious. Mingling notes of stone fruit and pear with hints of honeycomb, almonds and spices, the wine is medium to full-bodied, satiny and enveloping, its textural attack segueing into a layered, gourmand mid-palate, before concluding with a saline finish. (Jan 2022)"
91-93 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2020 Meursault Désirée has a well-defined bouquet with dried honey, yellow flowers and a touch of grilled walnut. It opens nicely in the glass. The palate has a slightly waxy entry, fine acidity, taut and focused with a touch of orange pith and lemon curd towards the finish. Good length. Excellent. Closure: Diam 30. Drink: 2024-2040. (Dec 2021)"
90-93 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Another perfect lemon and lime colour. Plumper fruit on the nose, only a faint hint of anything more exotic. Once again there is the necessary tension on the palate, with correct acidity, just a little reduction winding itself in to uplift the texture. (Oct 2021)"
90-92 points/'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from the 1er Les Plures, which is a lieu-dit within Santenots). Smoky wisps are present on the similar aromas of green apple, citrus confit and a plethora of spice hints, especially anise. There is both excellent punch and detail to the attractively textured and slightly finer middle weight flavors that fan out on the lingering, firm and slightly more complex finale. This too is really quite good and worth considering. Drink: 2027+. (Jun 2022)"
91+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2020 Meursault “Désirée” from Domaine des Comtes Lafon had also just been assembled a week prior to my visit. The wine is very pretty on the nose, wafting from the glass in a mix of apple, pear, a lovely base of limestone soil, almond, citrus peel and a nice touch of vanillin oak. On the palate the is bright, full-bodied and really shows off a lovely core of fruit this year, with good soil, bright acids and a long, complex and zesty finish. Good juice. 2022-2050. (Nov/Dec 2021)"
