91-94 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Slightly yellower in colour and less expressive on the nose, last picked and more concentrated as there was less juice by then. There is less mobility in the flavours at this stage, but fortunately the acidity is concentrated too so balance has not been lost, but perhaps there will be less joy? Or will it all develop over a longer period in bottle? I think so. (Oct 2021)"
93 points Christy Canterbury, MW (TimAtkin.com) (2022).
91-93 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2020 Meursault Clos de la Barre is lovely, wafting from the glass with scents of pear, orange oil, freshly baked bread and hazelnuts. Medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with an ample mid-palate framed by tangy acids and chalky dry extract, it's a satiny, seamless wine that will enjoy a long life. (Jan 2022)"
91-93 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2020 Meursault Clos-de-la-Barre has a clean, quite precise bouquet that is a step up from the Village, traces of grilled almond and hazelnut. The palate is underpinned by a fine line of acidity, more mineralité and tension with a saline, slightly Puligny-like finish. One of those less-is-more Meursaults. Bottled under Diam 30. Closure: Diam 30. Drink: 2026-2040. (Dec 2021)"
