95 points Christy Canterbury, MW (TimAtkin.com): "This is a classic Meursault nose with oyster shell, freshly-sliced baguette and peach pit on the nose. The palate turns more savory with yellow grapefruit and white pepper, but it is about as silky smooth and palate-saturating as Meursault can be. The finish takes its time, depositing notes of dried flowers and flint. 2023-35. (2022)"
94 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The Lafon family decided to pick their parcel in Poruzots last in 2020, but the wine does not show any of the slightly more concentrated personality traits found in the Clos de la Barre this year, as the wine is utterly refined, classical and stunning. The nose delivers a fine aromatic constellation of apple, passion fruit, a hint of iodine, hazelnuts, chalky soil tones, orange zest, fruit blossoms and a deft framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, pure and beautifully solid at the core, with excellent backend mineral drive, impeccable balance and grip, bright acids and a long, complex and energetic finish. This is a beautiful wine. 2028-2065. (Nov/Dec 2021)"
94 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2020 Meursault Les Porusots 1er Cru feels a bit fatigued on the nose. It lacks some cohesion and vibrancy at first, but that develops with time in the glass, improving with each swirl. The palate is nicely balanced with a spicy opening, stem ginger and a touch of lemon balm. A little oily in texture, the imprimatur of the growing season is clearly written on this wine compared to its peers, yet the terroir does come through with aeration. Outstanding. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting. Drink: 2025-2046. (Jul 2024)"
92-94 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "A particular success this year is the 2020 Meursault 1er Cru Porusots, a lovely wine that wafts from the glass with notes of crisp orchard fruit, citrus zest, white flowers, blanched almonds and wheat toast. Medium to full-bodied, tangy and chiseled, it's vibrant, concentrated and incisive, concluding with a chalky finish. Assessed at this early juncture, it's as good a Porusots as I can remember tasting chez Lafon. (1/20/22)"
91-94 points/'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "Here the nose is still showing quite a bit of post-malolactic leesy character that renders it tough to read at present though there is no apparent reason why it wouldn't clean up appropriately. The palate however is entirely clean with superb intensity to the larger-scaled flavors that brim with sappy dry extract that also serves to buffer the markedly firm acid spine shaping the more compact and slightly more powerful finale. Excellent potential here. Drink: 2032+. (Jun 2022)"
93 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "A mix of oak and ample white fruit. The toast from the barrel appears on the palate too, and the wine does not quite have the length of our favourites. Comes together a little more in the glass though, just a little understated at the moment. Puts on weight and depth as it develops in the glass. (May 2024)"
