92-93 points Joaquín Hidalgo (Vinous): "(tasted from tank): Pale, bright green-tinged yellow. Very pure aromas of lemon, lime and honey. Rich and lively on the palate, conveying a strong impression of saline dry extract but also a distinctly fine-grained texture. Precise flavors of lime blossom, menthol and white pepper are nicely framed and extended by harmonious acidity. An excellent showing. (02/16)."

91-93 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2014 Meursault 1er Cru Goutte d'Or has an expressive nose that is cut from a similar cloth to the Meursault Bouchère, but perhaps with more gumption: citrus fruit, white peach and a touch of honeysuckle even, all with fine mineral tones. The palate is fresh and vibrant with a keen thread of acidity, slightly honeyed with a hint of something sweet, maybe marzipan or coconut, on the finish. Like an excitable child, send them to kindergarten for 3-4 years before welcoming them back home, preferably to your dinner table. Drink: 2017-2035. (12/30/15)"

90-93 points/'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "Here the nose is also notably ripe though the attractively complex aromas of white and yellow orchard fruit, honeysuckle and hazelnut avoid any sense of the exotic. There is excellent richness to the generously proportioned, round, delicious and concentrated broad-shouldered flavors that offer excellent depth and length on the mouth coating finish thanks to the copious amount of dry extract. This doesn't offer the same level of finesse as the Bouchères but it's clearly bigger and richer. Drink 2022+. (06/15/16)."

91 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The la Goutte d’Or vineyard is the first premier cru one hits leaving the center of town and heading south towards Puligny, and the hail of June 28th rolled right over this section of the village’s vineyards. Consequently, the 2014 chez Lafon has emerged as quite a forward and accessible example of the vintage, but with good framing acids and fine complexity. The nose offers up a mélange of apple, pear, hazelnuts, chalky soil tones and a nice, discreet base of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, focused and quite suave on the attack, with an almost silky texture out of the blocks. The core is good and generous, the acids nicely lift the round fruit tones and there is good soil signature on the backend, if not the customary cut and grip. This will drink very well indeed from the moment of release. 2015-2025. (Nov/Dec 2015)"

91 points Decanter: "Lush, honeyed nose – almost buttery. Broad, opulent and textured palate that us spicy and complex, combining ripeness with a tangy minerality. Very long."
