95 points Charles Curtis MW (Decanter): "The ’21 Charmes from Lafon shows more definition and lemony freshness than customary for this lieu-dit, yet it is not lacking richness. There are pitch-perfect aromas of lemon peel and white flowers but also richer notes of nectarine and marzipan. The texture is silky and surprisingly vibrant. It will open to show its full potential in a few years and should age well for the next twenty years. The grapes come from a 1.71-hectare parcel in Charmes-Dessus near the border with Puligny. Drinking Window: 2025-2045. (10/31/22)"

95 points Christy Canterbury, MW (TimAtkin.com): "Sitting near the border of Puligny and composed primarily from the Charmes Dessus (1 ha), with just a bit of Dessous (0.2 ha) as well, this is vinous, pretty and expressive. Charming, as it were. Yellow cherries, apple core, citrus zest and Anjou pear mingle with toasty bread crusts. (2023)"

93-95 points/'Sweet Spot Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "A cool, pure and wonderfully elegant if distinctly restrained nose reluctantly presents its aromas of citrus, floral and spiced apple. On the palate this is almost a blend of the Genevrières and Perrières as there is some of each attribute on the middleweight flavors including minerality, intensity and focused power on the refined, balanced and highly complex finale. This is excellent and should age accordingly. Drink: 2033+. (6/10/23)"

92-94 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2021 Meursault Les Charmes 1er Cru, volume reduced by half, has a slightly reduced yet compelling bouquet with yellow fruit, hazelnut, sea spray and light chalky notes that blossom in the glass. The palate is well balanced with a concentrated opening thanks to those 95-year-old vines, powerful and perhaps the densest wine with plenty of extract on the finish. Expect a long-term Meursault here. Drink: 2025-2042. (Nov 2022)"

92-94 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Clear mid lemon. There is notable fruit weight on the nose, a little waxy even. A wealth of fruit on the palate, all the way from start to finish. Ripe citrus on top of the white fruit. There is clearly a lot more waiting to develop in this wine. Drink from 2027-2032. (Oct 2022)."

92-94 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2021 Meursault 1er Cru Charmes is lovely, exhibiting aromas of pear, peach and lemon mingled with buttery pastry, marzipan and vanilla pod. Medium to full-bodied, ample and satiny, with a fleshy core of fruit girdled by racy acids, it displays fine depth and cut. (1/31/23)"
