92-94 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2022 Saint-Aubin La Chatenière 1er Cru, a mix of limestone and clay soils with a western exposure, was showing a bit of reduction on the nose and despite swirling, it was difficult to dislodge. The palate is well-balanced with acidity perfectly matched to the intrinsic richness. There are glimpses of patisserie and wild peach, yet they never occlude the DNA of this superb steep vineyard. Very elegant and persistent on the aftertaste, this is Saint-Aubin firing on all cylinders. Drink: 2025-2048. (Jan 2024)"

93+ points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2022 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru La Chatenière is also a real success, delivering aromas of white flowers, crisp stone fruit, yellow apples and toasted hazelnuts. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and structured, with good depth at the core and chalky extract, it's built to age with grace. Drink: 2025-2045. (1/18/24)"

91-93 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "60 year old vines in a plot that has only ever known chardonnay. Mid lemon yellow. The bouquet has a pleasing generosity to it, ripe fruit with a few flowers. Several layers of fruit to this wine, ripe apples, just enough acidity behind, a complete St-Aubin. (Oct 2023)"

92 points La Revue du Vin de France: "In the Saint-Aubin premier cru 2022 series, La Chatenière deploys dense, pure fruit, a textured, woven feel and acidity that enhances the finish. A saline wine whose bitterness evokes lemon peel. (2025)"

91 points / 'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "A wonderfully fresh and expressive nose freely reveals its aromas of mostly pear and apple that are nuanced by hints of anise, orange peel and acacia. There is impressive density and richness to the caressing medium-bodied flavors that possess slightly better depth on the clean, refreshingly dry and well-balanced finale. Drink: 2029+. (Jun 2024)"
