94 points Jeff Leve (The Wine Cellar Insider): "Smoked cherries, espresso, licorice, flowers and plums open the aromatic essence here. On the palate, the wine is soft, polished, supple, creamy and fresh, with a mint, espresso and chocolate-topped, plummy finish. Drink from 2024-2040. (3/9/24)"
93 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2021 Clos Saint-Martin is an elegant, polished wine. Crushed rose petal, spice, blood orange, cedar, mint and kirsch all open in an understated, classy Saint-Émilion that captures the more gracious side of the year in style. Drink: 2029-2041. (Feb 2024)"
93 points James Suckling: "This shows black cherries and mushrooms with bark and chocolate and hints of citrus. It’s medium- to full-bodied with round and velvety tannins and a juicy finish. Very gourmand and enticing. Second wine of Chateau L’Evangile but mostly from vineyards with sandy soils. 84% merlot and 16% cabernet franc. Drink or hold. (7/8/24)"
92 points Jane Anson (Inside Bordeaux): "(80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon). Damson colour, deep violet reflections, this is good quality, with chalky tannins that are reflective of its clay-limestone terroir. Notably deeper in its extraction than many in the vintage, with tar and smoke notes from the oak, it comes with shoulders and power but also elegance, and a mouthwatering juicy character to the fruit, if marked by acidity on the finish. Harvest October 4 to 12. Alcohol 13.5%. Drink: 2026-2040. (4/7/22)"
92 points Georgina Hindle (Decanter): "Quite a perfumed nose with touches of toast, clove and tobacco allied to menthol and green peppercorn notes. This has bite and grip with tannins that are a touch rustic but do well to give the frame and support the bright fruit and high acidity. Clean and clear, creamy strawberry and mint and liquorice laced cherries are at the fore with an undercurrent of salty minerality and toasted elements. This needs more time, but has all the elements. Drinking Window: 2025-2040. (Dec 2023)"
