95 points/'#1 Top Value Wine of the Year 2025,' Jane Anson (Inside Bordeaux): "(70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon). Tasted at the Palmères de Castillon event, where I was a jury member, and this was one of the wines picked out blind. I checked it against a different bottle at home later, and suggest that it is given at least half an hour in a carafe, as it remains fairly closed, but once again this is proof of the quality of 2022, and it's a seriously impressive wine that offers wonderful value. I'm always a fan of Clos Puy Arnaud, and you get the deft precision of the winemaking here, coupled with ripe blueberry and raspberry fruits, liquorice, black tea, pomegranate and slate-scrape tannins. Alcohol 14%. Drink: 2025-2038. (6/14/25)"
94 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2022 Clos Puy Arnaud is a dense, extroverted wine. Inky dark fruit, licorice, menthol and cloves are all amplified. Usually Clos Puy Arnaud is more refined, but in 2022, the vintage dominates and speaks loudly. Even so, this is a compelling offering. I look forward to tasting it with bottle age. Drink: 2027-2042. (Jan 2025)"
93 points Wine Spectator: "[$36 list] Sleek and polished, with alluring notes of blackberry puree and warmed cassis that glide through, while fine-grained tannins, a buried chalky spine and a gilding of sweet tobacco add range and length. Shows a mouthwatering floral echo at the end. Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Best from 2026 through 2038. (3/31/25)"
93 points Peter Moser (Falstaff): "Deep dark ruby, opaque core, purple reflections, subtle brightening on the rim. Wild black berries, juniper and liquorice, some candied orange and nougat. Juicy, elegant, fresh core, ripe cherries, mineral-salty finish, shows length and certain ageing potential. (2023)"
92 points Yohan Castaing (Wine Advocate): "In comparison to the 2021, the 2022 Clos Puy Arnaud, a blend of 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, is less introverted and austere, offering up aromas of dark berries, spices, mulberries and flowers. Medium to full-bodied, generously extracted and concentrated, it's deep and lively and structured with velvety tannins, concluding with a long, delicately spicy and fresh finish. This estate is progressing toward producing more refined and vibrant wines, though this one will benefit from some time in the cellar to integrate its élevage fully. Drink: 2027-2035. (3/6/25)"

90-92 points Lisa Perrotti-Brown (The Wine Independent): "The 2022 Puy Arnaud is deep garnet-purple in color. It tumbles out with exuberant scents of plum preserves, blackberry compote, and raspberry pie, followed by suggestions of sandalwood and tobacco leaf. The medium to full-bodied palate is coated with layers of black and red berry preserves, supported by chewy tannins and plenty of freshness, finishing earthy. Drink: 2025-2038. (5/21/23)"
90-92 points Chris Kissack (Winedoctor): "This has a dark, smoky and reserved nose, which opens up with time to reveal surprisingly sweet aromatics, all blueberry and vanilla cream, with a little scented, rose-petal chocolate. The palate convinces, with a floral and chocolate-laced sense of cohesion, with rose petal, violet and toast, set within a firm, gripped and sinewy texture, modest in terms of body, which allows the tannic backbone to show through a little. It works though, with a gripped but fragrant length. This has promise;well done, Thierry. (Apr 2023)"
91 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2022 Clos Puy Arnaud (70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon) is rock-solid, offering upfront red and black berry-like fruits, some spicy oak and loamy, mineral nuances, medium body, and a pure, layered, elegant mouthfeel. (2/27/25)"
