96 points Bettane & Desseauve Guide: "Produced on a soil of clays and coarse flint, placed on tufa. A 2019 with accents of pear, white peach and citrus. Dense and taut in texture, with a long finish imbued with the chiseled minerality of stone. (2022)"

94 points Chris Kissack (Winedoctor): "When I tasted this during the élevage the predicted residual sugar was 16 g/l, but when the final analyses were done it turned out to be just 10 g/l. That’s lower than the norm for this cuvée, making it barely off-dry. It has a polished and shimmering gold hue in the glass. The aromatics are nothing short of striking, with bitter citrus fruits, orange peel, liquid stone, acacia and apricot skin. The palate keeps this up, being beautifully textured but streaked with bitter traits mirroring the nose. This all comes set in a seamless texture, tense and sinewy, citrus fruits along with more exotic notes, mango and peach skin, reflecting the ripe character of the vintage. It is swirled with crushed minerals, stone and appealingly bitter fruit pith. It has the restrained acidity of a warmer vintage, but it has intrigue and charm in spades. Delicious, although I wonder whether a few more grams of sugar, and a few less of alcohol, would not have been preferable? Maybe, but this is still delicious. The alcohol on the label is 14.5%. (Aug 2022)"

93+ points Stephan Reinhardt (Wine Advocate): "From a soil composed of clay and coarse flint elements covering the subsoil made up of tuff, the 2019 Montlouis sur Loire Clos Habert opens with a very fine and delicate bouquet of finely concentrated yellow-fleshed fruit aromas along with herbal and flinty notes. Round and intense, with perfectly ripe fruit, fine tannins and delicate acidity, this is a sustainably intense and salty Chenin that is far too young to be served today but will age for some decades. Tasted in March 2021. Drink: 2029-2050. (Aug 2021)"

93 points La Revue du Vin de France: "In the semi-dry version, Clos Habert 2019 marvelously integrates its residual sugars, smoothly expressing the radiance of chenin, velvety and full of vitality. Already pleasant, it will evolve peacefully over the next fifteen years. (2022)"
