92-95 points/'Sweet spot/Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a 1.5 ha parcel). A slightly more deeply pitched nose combines notes of spice, red and dark currant, plum and plenty of humus-inflected forest floor character. The sleek and almost painfully intense larger-bodied flavors possess exquisite detail as well as focused power that really builds as the solidly complex and lingering finish sits on the palate. As one would expect in the 2021 vintage, this doesn't have its usual volume, but the balance is impeccable. Highly recommended. Drink: 2036+. (Jan 2023)"
92-94+ points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2021 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Vaucrains unwinds to reveal aromas of dark berries and cherries mingled with notions of baking chocolate, forest floor and spices. Medium to full-bodied, rich and concentrated, it's a powerful, structured wine that's broader-shouldered than the more suave, elegant Cailles and Les Saint-Georges, but which is also exceptionally characterful. (Jan 2023)"
93 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "A dense youthful mid purple. Concentrated fresh dark red berry fruit, then gains a slightly reductive note. Sweet dark fruit with a little bitter chocolate. Am I quite getting enough, or is it just hiding. I think the latter, there seems to be more coming out with time. Tasted Sep 2025."
