96+ points La Revue du Vin de France: "Deep and serious, almost intimidating, the imposing Les Vaucrains offers density and structure. Its patinated tannins underline its fullness and incredible length. (2025)"

94-96 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2022 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Vaucrains 1er Cru, the last Premier Cru to be served from barrel, has the finest nose: mineral-rich black and red fruit with exquisite detail. The most precise of Chevillon's Premier Crus. The medium-bodied palate offers ripe red fruit laced with marmalade and blood orange. It’s a little spicier than the Les Saint-Georges and grainier in texture, with a dash of brown spice on the finish. Outstanding. Drink: 2028-2052. (Jan 2024)"

93-96 points/'Don't miss!/Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a 1.5 ha parcel). A more reserved nose grudgingly reflects notes of poached plum, earth, plenty of sauvage character and interesting whiffs of crushed star anise. There is a bit more minerality present on the vibrant and intense medium weight plus flavors that possess excellent delineation that carries over to the firm, compact and tautly muscular finish. This youthfully austere effort is going to require extended patience as it's both backward and very tightly wound yet oh so promising! Drink: 2037+. (Jan 2024)"

93-96 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "A lively fresh purple. A touch of new oak for the moment a bit dominant. Then a much darker red fruit which has if anything even more energy than Les St-Georges, but not quite as smooth at the finish, yet. Some tannins still to work out. Drink from 2032-2040. Tasted: November 2023."

93-95 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2022 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Vaucrains is inky and serious, unwinding in the glass with notions of dark berries, cherries and plums complemented by subtle hints of rose petal and violet. Full-bodied, layered and muscular, with an imposing chassis of rich, powdery tannins, this will, as ever, reward patience. (1/18/24)"
