92 points Neal Martin (Wine Journal): "Tasted at the Chevillon “Vaucrains” vertical in London. The 2003 has a typically (for the vintage) ripe, almost New World, Martinborough-like nose with macerated dark cherries and just a touch of burnt match. The palate is well balanced and sinewy, robust and rather bold tannins, thick and a little brawny perhaps but it has a very correct, tannic finish that is completely in synch with the layers of ripe fruit. Give this time: it might surprise a few that wrote off the vintage although it is atypical of Chevillon’s style. (9/29/11)"
90-92 points/'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "While almost hard to believe, this is even bigger still and it is unquestionably a massive wine in every respect with an intense mocha and chocolate nose and muscular, powerful and incredibly concentrated flavors that go on and on for minutes. For fans of raw size and power, this will be a sure winner. Fans of elegance and finesse will be perhaps less impressed but this is truly a dramatic wine. Drink: 2011+. (Jan 2005)"
