93 points Pierre Rovani (Wine Advocate): "Reluctantly, Bertrand Chevillon opened one bottle of his family’s 2000s, and it was wonderful. The medium to dark ruby-colored 2000 Nuits-St.-Georges Les Vaucrains bursts from the glass with coffee-infused blackberries and spices. Plump, lush, and juicy, this medium to full-bodied, silky-textured wine slathers the palate with supple, jammy black fruits, mocha, and spices. Seamless, friendly, and packed with fruit, it is a generous, forward offering that will deliver copious pleasure... (6/29/03)"

92 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2000 Vaucrains is another stellar success from Chevillon in this underrated vintage, soaring from the glass in a youthful mélange of red berries, medicinal black cherries, notes of bonfires, incipient notes of forest floor, and a deft framing of cedar. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, deep and focused, with the tannins today a bit better covered and more suave than the Cailles, with sound acids and great grip on the long, primary finish. This is pretty polite today for a young Chevillon Vaucrains (no sauvage notes of gamebirds or venison), but it should prove to be a superb example of the vintage once it reaches its apogee. Most impressive. (Jan/Feb 2006)"

90-92 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "Bright, saturated ruby-red. Knockout nose combines blackberry, licorice, dark chocolate, smoked meat, leather and a whiff of blood orange. High-pitched, rather powerful black fruit flavors are complicated by a charry element of torrefaction. Finishes long and juicy. The most obviously structured of these '00s, along with the Cailles. (Mar/Apr 2002)"
