It offers up a deep, pure and black fruity bouquet of plums, black cherries, stony soil tones, bitter chocolate, pigeon, woodsmoke, vanillin oak and a lovely floral topnote of violets. On the palate ht wine is deep, full-bodied, sappy at the core and beautifully defined by its underlying minerality, with ripe, buried tannins, impeccable balance and a long, precise and complex finish. A riper and more deeply pitched nose is composed by notes of poached plum, newly turned earth and a hint of humus character. The beautifully textured and vibrant, if not especially dense, flavors also possess evident minerality on the dusty, mouthcoating and youthfully austere finale. 91-93 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2023 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Perrières 1er Cru was another cuvée that showed some reduction on the nose. Nevertheless, the palate is very promising and a little less opulent than that of the Roncières, with a mix of red and black fruit, a hint of allspice and light savory notes toward the finish. The pH seems a little lower here, resulting in a fresher finish. Give this two or three years once in bottle. Drink: 2027-2043. (Jan 2025)"
