92 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "I probably have more experience with Bertrand Chevillon’s Chaignots bottling than with any of his other premier crus, as it is always the most accessible out of the blocks and for so many years, I would buy and drunk the Chaignots in its relative youth, to allow some of the more structured premier crus from the domaine to rest comfortably in my cellar. His 2023 version is another beautiful young wine, but this seems likely to be a bit more structured out of the blocks than some other recent vintages of Chaignots and will probably demand some bottle age before it can be drunk satisfactorily. The wine’s aromatic constellation is lovely, offering up scents of sweet dark berries, black cherries, coffee bean, dark soil tones, a nice touch of grilled meats, vanillin oak and a smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is deep, full and sappy at the core, with firm tannins, fine focus and balance and a long, soil-driven and promising finish. 2035-2080. (Jan/Feb 2025)"
90-92 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "Aromas of cherries, cassis and rose petal preface the 2023 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Chaignots, a medium-bodied, supple and floral rendition of this northern Nuits premier cru. It will offer a broad drinking window. (Jan 2025)"
90-92 points/'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a 1.5 ha parcel that blends 40+ and 60+ year old vines). A deft application of wood is present on the notably spicier nose of mostly various dark berries. The delicious medium-bodied flavors are not particularly dense but they are noticeably more refined and particularly so on the lightly stony, balanced and lingering finish where the wood telegraphed by the nose reemerges. Drink: 2030+. (Jan 2025)"
