90 points Tim Atkin, MW: "100% Chardonnay from Chavot-Courcourt in the Coteaux Sud d'Epernay. 2020. No sulphites, no dosage. Chardonnay tends to put up more of a fight when treated very naturally, and whilst this does have those salty-nutty, windfall fruit tones of the other wines it also keeps a toe in more recognizable lemon, pear and anise flavours. The dryness could be tiring, but 2020's innate sunniness means that this feels once again more like a light, fragrant naturalistic white with bubbles than a traditional Champagne. Charming stuff.
