95-97 points/'Outstanding+,' Steen Öhman (Winehog): "The Cuvée Vieilles Vignes 2015 is taking it to another level of refinement. The nose offers juicy red and darker fruits, a lovely spiciness and a very fine view to the earthy minerality. On the palate, focused, pure and vibrant for the vintage. Impressive intensity yet it’s paired with an effortless lightness … a truly magnificent Clos de Vougeot in the making. Drink from 2035. Tasted 3/23/16. (7/22/16)"

95 points Stephen Tanzer (Vinous): "Bright, dark red-ruby. Superripe, complex aromas of black raspberry, black cherry and licorice complicated by subtle soil tones. Sweeter and creamier than the cuvée classique and much more approachable today owing to its sheer sucrosité and depth. This beautifully balanced wine's thick, concentrated fruit covers its substantial building tannins on the very long, slowly mounting finish. Drink: 2025-2040. (Jan 2018)"

95 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from vines that were planted in 1910). This is aromatically similar to the regular cuvée but there is notably more concentration, power and dry extract to the broad-shouldered flavors that pushes the very firm tannic spine to the background on the hugely long, palate coating and driving finish. This opulently full-on effort is a manifestly old school Clos de Vougeot that is not only very much built-to-age but is going to require lots of it. In a word, excellent. Drink: 2035+. (Jan 2018)"

Bill Nanson (Burgundy Report): "(In 2015 the old vines cuvée is not made only from the one block of 1910 vines as in previous years. The vines in this block are producing less and less, so all the old vines from all the parcels were vinified together. The average age of the domaine’s vines in the Clos de Vougeot are over 60…) Quite deep colour. The nose is more open vs the ‘classic cuvée’; again a suggestion of torrefied notes, wide and with apparently a fine texture, and a growing silky fruit too. Instantly extra weight, width and a hint more texture. Faintly saline tannin and layers, indeed waves of mid-palate flavour. Broad, and fresh yet weighty persistence in the finish. Bravo! Beautiful wine. (Nov 2016)"
