95 points Eric Guido (Vinous): "Deep, complex and graceful, the 2019 Brunello di Montalcino entices with a cascade of blue and purple flowers, black cherries and hints of Tuscan spice. This is a radiant effort, with a tinge of tangerine up front that gives way to ripe red and black fruits propelled by tantalizing acidity. The 2019 tapers off long and staining, leaving a coating of fine tannins to flex their structural muscle as traces of black raspberry fade slowly. This is a soulful Brunello from start to finish. Beautifully done. Drink: 2025-2038. (Dec 2023)"

Kerin O'Keefe (Brunello di Montalcino: Understanding and Appreciating One of Italy's Greatest Wines): "It should be noted that [Diego] Molinari makes wine above all for his own pleasure and for the pleasure of his ferociously faithful customers, who fight over the small number of bottles available each year... No matter what the vintage brings, Molinari selects only the best grapes and makes wine with as little intervention as possible, without compensating tough harvests by adding a little extra acidity here or powdered tannins there. In a time when so many wines are drawn up in a boardroom before grapes are even harvested, I find Molinari's approach to winemaking inspiring, if not downright courageous. When the vintage cooperates, Cerbaiona's Brunellos are delicious, complex, and truly memorable... Cerbaiona's Brunellos are all about complexity and perfume rather than sheer muscle. Intensely floral and earthy bouquets take on tertiary aromas of leather and tobacco as they age, as would be expected in such a traditionally crafted Brunello. Succulent and bright cherry-berry-flavors are replaced with dried fruit, fig, and tealeaf and tobacco nuances. Given the tiny production, Molinari never makes a Riserva but only uses the best grapes for his straight Brunello. 1.6 ha (4 acres), 8,000 bottles."
