97 points International Wine Report: "The 2022 Cayuse Flying Pig is a captivating blend of 48% Merlot, 43% Cabernet Franc, and 9% Cabernet Sauvignon, aged for 18 months in 30% new oak. This vintage leans more into its Merlot foundation, resulting in a beautifully layered and expressive wine. Aromas of crushed violets, graphite, black cherry preserves, and smoked brisket intertwine with hints of cedar box and damp earth. The palate is polished and deeply textured, unfolding notes of wild raspberries, red currants, and blood orange zest, all laced with a savory minerality. Silky tannins and vibrant acidity carry the wine into a lingering finish, where nuances of dark cocoa and roasted herbs emerge. A seamlessly complex and alluring red, this is drinking beautifully now but has the structure to evolve gracefully over the next decade. 253 cases made. Highly recommended. Drink 2025-2035 (Feb 2025)"
94 points James Suckling: "A dark-fruited, lightly chocolaty character on the nose, showing ripe berries, black licorice, black olives and wet soil. Broad and textured on the palate, it has a somewhat tight, cedary feel. Full-bodied with an earthy, savory ending. 48% merlot, 43% cabernet franc and 9% cabernet sauvignon. From biodynamically grown grapes. Try from 2027. (Mar 2025)"
