95 points Zekun Shuai (JamesSuckling.com): "This is still demure and deep despite the fruit ripeness. Cedary wood with savory plums, berries, dry earth and truffles. Still pretty full-bodied with rich, savory fruit and aged complexity. Lots of tannins here but they have started to mellow. It lingers well. This is still developing, but it is arguably getting close to its peak. Lots of complexity here. Drink or hold. Plenty of life still ahead of it. (7/10/24)"
95 points Stephen Tanzer (Vinous): "(this bottling represents the best 12 barrels from a high-altitude planting of vines more than 70 years old) Good bright, deep ruby. Deep, sexy aromas of blackberry, blueberry, gunflint and licorice. Suave, dense and sweet, with a creamy, complex core of black fruit, leather and violet flavors. Large-scaled, pliant and generous wine with lovely clarity and lift, thanks to excellent balancing acidity. This very classy malbec finishes with superb tannic structure and outstanding mounting persistence. A knockout. (Jan 2008)"
95 points Wine Spectator: "Ultramodern in style, this is massively endowed with dense layers of raspberry ganache, boysenberry and plum sauce allied to a massive core of dark chocolate, licorice and loam. Yet this manages to stay deftly balanced, with a long, pure finish driven by dark fruit and graphite. 150 cases imported. (11/30/07)"
