95 points Kerin O'Keefe: "The classic Castello di Verduno 2021 Barolo is fragrant and loaded with finesse, starting with its beautiful aromas of violet, rose, perfumed berry and a whiff of eucalyptus. Savory and elegantly structured, the bright palate features succulent red cherry, pomegranate, cake spice and star anise before closing on a note of blood orange. Taut, refined tannins and tangy acidity provide balance. To date this is the best straight Barolo I've had from the estate. Drink: 2029–2036. (Jun 2025)"

93 points Michaela Morris (Decanter): "A blend of parcels all within the village of Verduno, this Barolo sees a classic vinification in stainless steel with a 30-day maceration and ageing in Slavonian oak casks. It's a lovely representation of the township and makes a fine point of entry for the estate’s Monvigliero and Massara bottlings. Lifted scents of mint and pepper take a grounding turn as truffle comes into focus. The palate is awash with strawberry and cherry, while lively acidity vaults and powdery tannins provide an elegant frame. Zesty citrus prolongs the finish. Well executed and joyfully approachable already. Drinking Window: 2025-2033. (Jan 2025)"

93 points Ian D'Agata Wine Review: "Pretty red colour. This is gorgeous, a benchmark traditional Barolo that will reward patience. Perfumed, precise aromas and flavours of red fruit, violet, and minerals. Then saline and mineral on the long vertical finish. Lovely acid/fruit/tannin/balance here, this offers lots of wine for the money. Best after 2029. Drinking Window: 2029-2036. (May 2025)"

92 points Audrey Frick (JebDunnuck.com): "A bright red color, the 2021 Barolo reveals more complexity on the nose, with focused notes of red cherries, cracked pepper, toasted spice, and thyme. The palate brings forward a nice level of energy, with medium-bodied richness, the refreshing spice of acidity, well-defined tannins, and a very nice finish. It has a lot to offer now or over the coming 10 years. Drink: 2025-2035. (May 2025)"

90 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2021 Barolo is everything a wine in this peer group should be. Aromatic, bright and light on its feet, the 2021 is all charm. Crushed flowers, sweet red-toned fruit, cinnamon and pressed rose petal add to its allure. Drink:2024-2031. (Jan 2025)"
