110 points/'Cum Laude' Luca Gardini (Nov 2025)

100 points Audrey Frick (JebDunnuck.com): "The 2021 Brunello Di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova pours a deep red hue and opens with an exceptionally layered bouquet of suede, cigar box, tobacco, black cherries, and plum. Full-bodied, it’s packed with youthful tension at this stage, but it has a seamless, weightless feel, with polished tannins, refreshing acidity, and a flinty mineral edge that keeps the finish lifted and long. It’s a gorgeous Tenuta Nuova that has everything working in harmony and will only improve with time in bottle. Drink 2026-2050. (Feb 2026)"

98 points James Suckling: "Dark berry, walnut, cedar, thyme and some caramel aromas that follow through to a medium to full body with firm tannins and a tight and racy mouthfeel. Citrus and cherries at the end. Needs time to open and soften, but this is a solid Brunello. Try after 2028. (Dec 2025)"

98 points Falstaff Guide: "Rich, intensely sparkling ruby. Compact and dense on the nose, aromas of blackberries, plums, lots of tobacco and undergrowth. Full-bodied in the attack and on the palate, with dark berry fruit also present, opens up with dense, very well-placed tannins, fine enamel, lingers for a long time, juicy finish. (Mar 2026)"

97 points Raffaele Vecchione (WinesCritic.com): "Dark and deep, it displays notes of black plums, blackberries, dark chocolate, peppermint, bay leaves, juniper berries, and rosemary. The Mediterranean contrast is rare and decidedly engaging, lending personality and character to the wine. Full body, well-polished ripe tannins, and a rich, long finish. Best from 2029. (Oct 2025)"

96 points Eric Guido (Vinous): "Citrus-infused herbal tea, crushed raspberries, pine shavings and incense beguile as the 2021 Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova blossoms in the glass. It is surprisingly juicy yet deep and complex, with tart wild berry saturation and nuances of ground clove that add cheek-pinching tension and a balancing tinge of zesty acidity. An array of edgy tannins frames the incredibly long finish, which is spicy and youthfully tense with a blackberry resonance. This is a fascinating vintage for Tenuta Nuova that shows a humbling level of complexity. Drink 2028-2046 (Nov 2025)"

96 points Monica Larner (Wine Advocate): "The Casanova di Neri 2021 Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova comes across as more lifted and punchy compared to recent past vintages, showing a brighter fruit profile and added energy. I know that some whole-cluster fruit is used in the Giovanni Neri bottling, and there is a reminiscent aromatic effect on this wine that contributes to its primary freshness. The mouthfeel is medium-rich, and while the wine initially felt reserved, a return to the open bottle revealed a more expressive and harmonious profile, indicating that it benefits from time or a quick double decant. Introduced in the early 1990s, Tenuta Nuova marked a stylistic turning point for the estate, emphasizing precision, ripeness and site expression. The tannins are well managed and elegant, and the freshness arrives with well-judged intensity. Aging takes place for 30 months in tonneaux, rather than large casks, and production stands at 58,800 bottles. Drink 2027-2048 (Jan 2026)"
