98+ points Luca Gardini: "From the project started in the 90s, a Brunello of finesse and elegance. Nose of red currant, then mint and nettarina, with hints of geranium and red orange. The mouthfeel has salty tannins, notes of small fruits and closes persistent on menthol notes. (Oct 2024)"

97 points Audrey Frick (JebDunnuck.com): "A jeweled magenta/ruby color, the 2020 Brunello Di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova is perfumed with preserved flowers, kirsch, fresh herbs, sage, and mossy earth. Full and elegant, it offers a silky mouthfeel, ripe tannins, even acidity, and a lovely, pure, concentrated, fresh feel. It's long on the palate, with its mouthwatering salinity and prettier red strawberry-noted perfume lasting on the finish. It's both approachable now and impeccably structured to enjoy over the coming 15-20 years. Drink: 2025-2045. (1/22/25)"

97 points Ian D'Agata Wine Review: "Good full red. Expressive but refined, complex aromas of raspberry, redcurrant syrup, licorice, tobacco, woodsmoke, and cinnamon. Then quite dense, sweet and spicy, with a multilayered, youthfully bound down flavour palette of red fruit, sweet spices and herbs, nuances that carry through on the intensely flavoured, long, suave finish. Outstanding Brunello that finishes long with good energy and focus. Knockout stuff: well done. Drinking window: 2030-2042. (12/13/24)"

97 points James Suckling: "This is vibrant and fresh with firm, integrated tannins that melt into the wine. Medium-bodied, but with tension, focus and length. A bitter-orange note comes through. Drinkable now, but better in 2026. (9/26/24)"

96 points Monica Larner (Wine Advocate) "[$130 list] The Casanova di Neri 2020 Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova stands apart in the context of this portfolio. I get a distinctly creamy note that cedes to almond paste, sweet cherry and chalky stone. The wine is open-knit and generous with velvety tannins and no bitterness on the finish. It has the bulk and the fresh fruit concentration for long cellar aging. It is texturally rich, ending with hints of cedar spice and something that reminds me of freshly broken tree branches. Yields were down by about 15% in this vintage. Drink: 2026-2048. (11/21/24)"

96 points Vanessa Conlin (The Wine Independent): "Medium-deep in color, the 2020 Tenuta Nuova has aromas of potpourri, cherry liqueur, and game. Spherical on the palate, it's holding the alcohol quite well, although with just a touch of warmth on the finish. The acid is balancing but not at the forefront, with dark fruits and black tea on the focused and long finish. Alcohol 15%. Drink: 2025-2044. (12/12/24)"

96 points Falstaff Guide: "Bright ruby red with subtle brightening on the rim. Elegant aromas, with ferrous notes, cherry, cranberry, a subtle herbal savouriness, maquis and bay leaf, a touch of pipe tobacco. Mediterranean flavours on the palate, with a subtle herbal savouriness, a slightly salty background note and a ferrous finish. Already approachable. (2/14/25)"

95 points Eric Guido (Vinous): "The 2020 Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova elevates things to a profound place. A cascade of cloves and allspice complement dried violets, blackberries and hints of sage. This is a total pleasure on the palate, cool-toned and soft-textured with ripe wild berry fruits underscored by minerals and spice. It finishes perfumed and dramatically long, leaving a resonance of licorice with blue and purple inner florals that linger over a bed of fine tannins. The 2020 Tenuta Nuova is dreamy with a classic feel that keeps me looking back to the glass for more. Bravo. Drink: 2026-2036. (Nov 2024)"

95 points Michaela Morris (Decanter): "Crowning this estate’s three Brunello releases in 2020, Tenuta Nuova encapsulates its dry, balmy, forested surroundings near Sant’Angelo in Colle with aplomb. It was picked on the mornings of September 15 to 17 to avoid the afternoon heat. The nose offers pronounced rosemary, thyme and tobacco, lightly sprinkled with cocoa. Plump red plum and ripe persimmon are layered between sweet, dusty tannins. Zesty, citrussy acidity gives an invigorating lift. There are no rough edges here – it's irresistible now but with the stuffing and substance for another 12-15 years. Drinking Window: 2025-2039. (11/13/24)"
