94 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The bouquet of the 2023 Champs Canet from Domaine Carillon is flat out stunning! The wine’s aromatic constellation soars from the glass in a blend of apple, white peach, a complex base of chalky soil tones, white lilies, lemon blossoms and a deft framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, pure, full-bodied and nicely reserved in personality, with a beautiful core of perfectly ripe fruit, great backend mineral drive and grip, zesty acids and impeccable balance on the long, nascently complex and vibrant finish. Great juice. 2028-2055. (Jan/Feb 2025)"

94 points Christy Canterbury, MW (TimAtkin.com): "Jacques says this always has a bit less acidity than the Perrières (even though they're on the same level of the hillside), but it's hard to tell that by tasting. I'd say this is downright racy… even in the 2023 vintage. This is scented with straw, beeswax, savory spice and flinty finesse. Give this time to fully unleash its pent-up concentration! (2025).

92-94 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Fresh lemon yellow. The most complex of the bouquets to date, and the densest fruit on the palte. A little warmth but with adequate acidity to maintain the trim. White orchard fruit, ripe apple more than peach, a little mineral tension to finish, and fine length. (Oct 2024)"

91-94 points/'Sweet spot/Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(45+ year old vines). An ultra-fresh and cool nose freely offers up its aromas of just sliced citrus, white peach and mineral reduction that are trimmed in enough wood to notice. The delicious, intense and impressively voluminous flavors possess fine mid-palate density along with a more subtle bead of minerality that adds a sense of lift to the citrusy, serious and wonderfully persistent finale. The Carillon Referts is virtually always outstanding and this will be no exception. Drink: 2031+. (Jun 2025)"

91-93 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2023 Puligny-Montrachet Les Referts 1er Cru is a step up from the Les Perrières with greater tension, mineralité and touches of wet limestone filtering through the green apple notes. This has modest intensity. The palate has a lightly spiced, stony opening, with more grip than the Les Perrières. There's a touch of white pepper and nettle toward the finish. It has good potential and is a worthy follow-up to the 2022. Drink: 2025-2042. (Jan 2025)"
