93 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The bouquet of the 2023 Champs Canet from Domaine Carillon is flat out stunning! The wine’s aromatic constellation soars from the glass in a blend of apple, white peach, a complex base of chalky soil tones, white lilies, lemon blossoms and a deft framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, pure, full-bodied and nicely reserved in personality, with a beautiful core of perfectly ripe fruit, great backend mineral drive and grip, zesty acids and impeccable balance on the long, nascently complex and vibrant finish. Great juice. 2028-2055. (Jan/Feb 2025)"

90-93 points/'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(40+ year old vines). A discreet application of oak sets off markedly floral-suffused white orchard fruit aromas. Once again there is a strikingly lovely texture to the generously proportioned medium weight flavors that deliver excellent length on the balanced finale. Like several wines in the range, this too could use better depth so some patience is recommended. With that said, Champs Canet almost always drinks well young so if you're going to pull a Carillon '23 to try, this would be a good choice. Drink: 2029+. (Jun 2025)"

92 points Christy Canterbury, MW (TimAtkin.com) (2025).

90-92 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Also pale in colour, with a light herbal touch to the nose. Perhaps lacking the density of atop vintage, but the fruit is fine, evenly balanced, with both weight and elegance, moderate structure and some length. Earliest to drink more floral. (Oct 2024)"

Bill Nanson (Burgundy Report): "(‘Always our most supple and open 1er, in the direction of Meursault’). A more floral infused nose – fresh and deep. Considered, indeed supple, almost layered expression of flavours. The finish with acidulated fruit and with extra bitters – that’s a lovely counterpoint. The length a proper 1er cru step up… (Dec 2024)"
