91-93 points Chris Kissack (Winedoctor): "This has a dark, roasted and very modern style aromatically, with lightly baked black cherry and black olive fruits. The palate has a rather soft, supple and voluminous substance, rich in texture and creamed black fruits, and laced with sooty black tannins, peppery and bright. And there is fresh acidity for balance. It is loaded with grip, feeling ripe, broad and substantial, the finish full of warm, ripe and roasted tannins. It will drink well young, but it is rich in brooding structure and will be popular with those who favour more modern styles. (Apr 2019)"

92 points Jane Anson (Decanter): "This has a gorgeous violet edging to the colour with clear oak influence, veering to smoky and working well. There is a clear tightening through the mid palate, as you would expect from the limestone soils, but it will soften over ageing and they have captured plenty of juice running through the blueberry and blackberry fruits. The Denz estates in general have been successful in 2018. Drinking Window: 2023-2032. (3/31/19)"

92 points Jeff Leve (The Wine Cellar Insider): "Fresh and juicy, the wine pops with all its ripe, plums, cherries, licorice, coffee bean, cocoa and spice. Lush, opulent and packed with sweet, red and dark red berries, this is good now, but a few more years in the cellar will make it even better. The wine was made from a blend of 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. (Mar 2021)"

91 points Jeb Dunnuck: "A blend of 85% Merlot and the balance Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, from the cooler Castillon region to the east of Saint-Emilion, the 2018 Château Cap De Faugères reveals a healthy ruby/purple hue as well as lots of pretty red and blue fruits, notes of candied orange, tobacco, and violets, no hard edges, silky tannins, and both beautiful balance and purity. It's a terrific Castillon to enjoy over the coming decade or so. Drink: 2021-2031. (3/11/21)"

91 points James Suckling: "Fresh blueberries, crushed brambleberries and licorice on the nose with a touch of cocoa powder. It’s medium-to full-bodied with firm, creamy tannins and fresh acidity. Succulent finish. Try from 2022. (1/6/21)"
