95 points Jane Anson (Inside Bordeaux): "Everthing comes together here, and the 2016 is a better vintage at Camensac than the 2010, even though on paper there are similarities in terms of weather. The team has here drawn out a sculpted, savoury personality, a little earthy on the finish but unfussy and welcoming, with ripe raspberry and blackberry fruits, slate, pummice stone, white pepper, pulses of energy and confident tannic hold. 60% new oak. Eric Boissenot consultant, Clare Thomas-Chenard technical director. Drink 2024-2042 (Jan 2024)"

93 points James Suckling: "A prototypical Médoc wine with very good depth and beautiful harmony. I love the long, moderately dry and savory finish that pulls your hand instinctively back to the glass. A blend of 50 per cent cabernet sauvignon and 50 per cent merlot. Drink or hold. (Jan 2019)"

91+ points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2016 Camensac has turned out brilliantly, revealing aromas of dark berries, violets, rose petals, baking chocolate and cherries. Medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, it's a layered, impressively concentrated wine with lively acids and a perfumed finish. I'm sure Camensac will hit higher highs in the future, but for now, this is a benchmark vintage for the estate. Drink 2022-2042 (Oct 2022)"

91 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2016 de Camensac has an easygoing, rather one-dimensional yet pure bouquet of black cherries and light pencil box aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with strict but well-defined tannins. Quite an edgy Médoc, but one with pleasing persistence on the finish. This is worth seeking out. Tasted blind at the Southwold tasting. Drink 2022-2038 (Aug 2020)"

91 points Decanter: "This is a vintage where the freshness levels run high, and here a rich array of dark tight fruits is joined by high acidity with menthol and eucalyptus notes. It's good quality, but needs to settle into its stride, and fatten up a little further in bottle. There has been pyrazine in the past at Camensac, and they are doing a lot of work with the vines to reduce that - this 2016 has clearly shifted from green pepper to eucalyptus, which gives good Médoc typicity while retaining fruit character. A successful wine. Drinking window 2024-2040 (Oct 2018)"

91 points Chris Kissack (Winedoctor): "From vineyards just to the west of St Julien, this shows a fresh nose filled with surprisingly crisp red-fruit character, including redcurrant, cranberry and pomegranate. This is in contrast to the rather warm, easy-going and welcoming palate, which shows a fresh and pure style, which comes in a soft and velvety wrapping of tannins, all entwined around a core of delicate and acid-driven fruit. A slightly bitter edge to the moderate length completes the picture. From my Bordeaux 2016 assessment at two years. 91/100 (December 2018)"
