95 points/'Le Coup de Coeur,' La Revue du Vin de France: "The cru is in top form, delivering a series of highly successful vintages. The grand vin is holding up better than well and seems even more flamboyant than last year. The palate is intense, with generous fruit and overall harmony. (2021)"

94 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2017 Branaire-Ducru is all class and finesse. Bright and focused, the 2017 speaks with a clear, well-articulated voice. I especially like the energy here. Soft and understated in the classic Branaire style, the 2017 offers notes of red and purplish fruit intermingled with expressive floral and spice notes. The 2017 is such a pretty Saint-Julien. Tasted two times. Drink: 2025-2037. (Mar 2020)"

94 points Lisa Perrotti-Brown (The Wine Independent): "The Branaire-Ducru 2017 has a medium to deep garnet-purple color. It springs with savory notions of dried herbs, black olives, and beef drippings, over a core of cassis and black raspberries, plus a waft of cedar. Light to medium-bodied, the palate is tightly wound with black and red berry layers, supported by ripe, grainy tannins and bold freshness, finishing long and minerally. (12/29/22)"

94 points Wine Enthusiast: "An elegantly structured wine, this is both juicy and packed with tannins. Ripe berry flavors are equally prominent in this balanced wine. The wine's future is promising; drink from 2024. Alcohol 14%. (Mar 2020)"

93 points Decanter: "Characterful and pungent on the nose, displaying aromas of crisp raspberries, red cherries with a lifted violet perfume. Weighty and vibrant, with silky smooth tannins, complex and well-layered. Drinking Window: 2022-2045. (2/25/22)"

93 points Jeff Leve (The Wine Cellar Insider): "On the fresh, lifted classic side, with good length, purity, elegance and polished tannins, the finish is clean, crisp and focused on this beautiful core of sweet, red fruits. (May 2020)"

92 points Wine Spectator: "A polished style, with a perfumed mesquite note draped over a core of plum and blackberry puree flavors. The finish lingers, with a mineral hint amid the fruit. Pure and aromatic. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. Drink now through 2032. (3/31/20)"

90-92 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The deep purple-colored 2017 Château Branaire-Ducru offers a fresh, focused, classic style in 2017. Beautiful spring flowers, black and blue fruits, and a kiss of minerality all emerge from this medium-bodied effort that has nicely integrated acidity, a balanced, clean texture, and plenty of mid-palate depth. My money is on this ending up being an outstanding wine. (4/23/18)"

91 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2017 Branaire Ducru has a fresh bouquet with lifted brambly red fruit mixed with cedar and woodland aromas - classic Saint-Julien. The oak here is nicely integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannins, mainly red fruit mixed with leather and cedar. It needs just a little more substance on the mid-palate and it tapers in towards the finish. But it does feel fresh and vigorous, providing pleasant drinking over the next couple of decades. Drink: 2022-2040. (Jan 2020)"

91 points James Suckling: "Notes of raspberries and orange peel with tar on the nose and palate. Medium body, firm and silky tannins and a fresh, lively finish. Pleasing young red. Better after 2021. (12/10/19)"
