In 1977, just a few years after taking control of world-renown Piedmontese restaurant Belvedere, Gianfranco Bovio dedicated himself to rebuilding his father's wine estate. Now comprised of 10 hectares of crus in the prime slopes of Arborina, Gattera, and Rocchettevino, Bovio's project has been an unprecedented success, elaborating a range of wines that exemplify the terroir of La Morra. Bovio brings out the more feminine characteristics of Nebbiolo, displaying notes of earth, flowers, and elegance. La Morra is considered the most perfumed and graceful of the Barolos, as well as the most supple and easiest to drink.
