91-93 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2020 Volnay Ronceret 1er Cru takes some time to coalesce in the glass, though it demonstates a little more precision than the Robardelle, the fruit slightly darker and less confit. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, fine acidity, quite harmonious with a luxuriant but focused cassis-tinged finish. This should age well in bottle. Just one barrel produced. Bill Nanson (Burgundy Report): "(Right in the middle of the 1ers at the top of the vineyard. Quite deep soil but with lots of small rocks.) The nose here again a bit less pure. Racy, fresh, cool fruit – ooh – that’s impressive. I think this will be a really excellent wine – I just love the shape of it. (1/19/22)"
