92 points/'Sweet spot/Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from Les Chanlins and Les Combes). A brooding and very somber nose only grudgingly reveals its aromas of lightly spiced plum, earth and dark berries that are trimmed in much more subtle, if not invisible, wood. The dense, serious and overtly powerful flavors possess outstanding concentration and even though the very firm tannins are borderline chewy there is so much extract that there is a velvety texture to the explosively long, balanced and harmonious finish. This robust effort is really quite impressive and clearly built to age. Drink: 2031+. (Apr 2018)"

92 points Wine & Spirits: "[$90 list] Bouchard presented two classical Pommards from 2016—a village wine and a premier cru—both firmly structured and ready to charm. This premier cru is more potently concentrated, even as the bright red cherry depths glow with a lithe tension. There’s an underlying minerality to the structure, sustaining a sense of freshness that lasts. This will only get better with several years in the bottle. (Oct 2018)"

Producer notes: "On the nose, fruit aromas coupled with wilder animal notes expressed on an oaky touch. This is a robust, solid wine with a present tannic structure. very good ageing potential."
