98 points James Suckling: "This is very structured and tannic. Lots of richness and depth. Chewy. Like a top red wine. Earth. Stone. Steel. Muscular. Drinkable, but better with age. (12/21/22)"

97 points/'Don't miss!' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a .89 ha parcel of Puligny vines). Again, firm reduction renders an assessment of the nose impossible. The borderline massive flavors possess even more size and weight and this mid-palate is dense to the point of being borderline chewy yet the hugely persistent finish is highly seductive. In a word, magnificent. Drink: 2028+. (Jun 2018)"

97 points Tim Atkin, MW (2018).

94-96 points Neal Martin (Wine Advocate): "There is just half of the quantity of the 2016 Montrachet Grand Cru this year (although that said, that's probably a multiple of what fellow Montrachet growers inherited). The bouquet has that marine-like tincture like the La Cabotte—oyster shell and sea cave scents underlying the citrus fruit. The palate is well balanced with a fine line of acidity, sappy in the mouth, a brooding intensity toward the finish. You can just feel the presence of this Montrachet, the opening chapter of a great wine. This will take several years to reach its apogee but it will be worth the wait. Drink: 2020-2050. (Dec 2017)"

93-96 points Fine Wine Review: "Last, the Montrachet is mineral in the nose. The mouth shows intensity, good minerality, some power, plenty of stoniness, lime fruit, and good acidity. Production of this wine was about 50-60% of a full crop. (3/11/18)"

94 points Jasper Morris, MW: "Just a touch more colour than lemon. This has a rich heady nose of ripe fruit and new oak. Definitely in the yellow register, then some marshmallow notes, there is considerable power through the middle, while lacking detail at the moment. Perhaps just biding its time. DIAM 10 closure. Tasted: May 2019."
