97 points Christy Canterbury, MW (TimAtkin.com): "This comes from 70 ares in the top-center portion of the Cru from vines that are 50 years old. Frédéric gets to choose his harvest date, and this was picked on 26 September. Starting with Marasca cherries and blueberries on the nose, the palate core is as juicy as the nose suggests. The tannins are creamy, the acidity is dazzling and the whole structure is beautifullyintegrated. This is a real class act. (2023)"

93-96 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Not domaine, but sourced from their usual plot of 0.70ha which delivered a fairly full crop in 2021. Just 30% whole bunch vinification. Full deep red plum and peach fruit, a bouquet which might want freshening. A delicious and accurate style of Clos de Bèze on the palate, with some strawberries now at the back of the palate. Minor tannins, good persistence. Drink from 2028-2035. (Nov 2022)"

92-94 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2021 Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru is lovely, wafting from the glass with aromas of cherries, cassis and blackberries mingled with spices and licorice. Full-bodied, rich and layered, it's supple and fleshy, with broad shoulders and a long, resonant finish. (Jan 2023)"

93 points Charles Curtis MW (Decanter): "This wine shows an enchanting ripe cherry fruit that is generously smoky since we tasted it from a one-year-old barrel. On the palate, more complexity comes through with notes of leather, spice, and earth. The wine is supple and approachable but not lacking in tannin or structure. Each year grapes are sourced from the same parcel near the top of the slope in the Clos de Bèze. In 2021 the grapes were picked before 60mm of 60mm rain fell between 25 – 26 September. Drinking Window: 2025-2045. (May 2022)"

91-93 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2021 Chambertin Clos-de-Bèze Grand Cru comes from the négociant side, from the same 0.8-hectare plot harvested by Bouchard’s team one hour before the rain. This has quite a reduced nose, metallic at the moment and occluding the terroir expression. The palate is balanced on the entry, quite rounded with ample fruit, mulberry and red plum mixed with dried herbs. Harmonious on the finish. Give this time in bottle before broaching. Drink: 2026-2042. (Jan 2023)"
