95 points (17.5/20) La Revue du Vin de France: "Magnificently full-bodied, it offers one of the most complete palates in the house's Grand Cru series. Powerful, monobloc wine with vibrant fruit. It should be drunk within a decade. (Jan 2017)"

92-95 points/'Don't miss!' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(20% whole clusters). Moderate wood and menthol nuances serve as a less than neutral backdrop for the gamy, spicy and very ripe aromas of dark pinot fruit liqueur-like aromas. There is fine volume and outstanding intensity to the big-bodied and powerful flavors that possess flat out superb concentration thanks to the abundance of palate drenching sap that also serves to buffer the firm core of ripe tannins on the hugely long and wonderfully complex finish. While the underlying raw material is certainly present such that this will require 15 to 20 years to arrive at its full apogee, the sap is such that I suspect that it will allow this to be enjoyed after only 7 to 8 years of cellar time. This is one to look for provided that you have at least moderate patience. Drink: 2029+. (Apr 2016)"

91-95 points Fine Wine Review: "For the most part, the hail did not hit this vineyard in 2014, and so yields were a bit better than for most of the foregoing wines. The nose is deep and direct with dark fruit, complexity, and minerality. The mouth shows firmness, overall balance, and a slimmer profile and more tightness than most Cortons in this vintage. It is focused and has quality tannins to go with the minerality. (1/24/16)"

94 points Tim Atkin, MW: "Always picked last at Bouchard Père, this comes from a bony, limestone-rich, east-facing site overlooking the village of Ladoix. Built to last, it’s grippy and focused, but with more fruit sweetness than some Cortons, stylish oak and fine tannins. 2019-26. (2016)"

93 points Bruce Sanderson (Wine Spectator): "[$125 list] This red is marked by ripe, crunchy cherry and raspberry fruit, accented by rich loam and chalky mineral notes. Firm, yet balanced and long on the spice- and smoke-tinged aftertaste. Best from 2018 through 2029. 125 cases imported. (4/30/17)"

92+ points Stephen Tanzer (Vinous): "(35% new oak; this was the last parcel Bouchard harvested on the Côte de Beaune): Bright, dark red Pungent, vibrant nose melds cherry, redcurrant, licorice, herbs, minerals and spices, all lifted by a floral topnote Wonderfully suave, silky, complex wine with a peppery topnote and excellent delineation to its red berry and spice flavors Still rather laid-back and tight, with serious savory minerality combining with firm, dusty tannins to give grip to the finish This is still an infant and holds out considerable promise Drink: 2024-2035. (Mar 2017)"

92 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "A lovely even and youthful red colour. The bouquet is much more about the fruit and less the oak. This is a solid masculine, dark fruit and oak, just a few more tannins than would be ideal, but plenty of time yet. (Jun 2024)"
