95 points Christy Canterbury, MW (TimAtkin.com): "Alas, whereas Frédéric Weber had 40 hl/ha here in 2022, he only harvested 5 hl/ha in 2021. This is a true gem with pretty and effusive aromatics of honeysuckle, ginger, lemonade and crushed stones. The flavors are pure and precise, and the mid-weight palate offers notable tension from the tangy acidity and touch of low-key tannins. It seems that it will be approachable early, even if several years would certainly layer on complexity. (2023)"
95 points Charles Curtis MW (Decanter): " Lemony and bright, this wine exemplifies the virtues of whites of the 2021 vintage. The initial impression is citrus peel, but there is a nectarine sweetness, some richer apricot notes, a salty mineral overlay, and some lovely floral notes. The wine has plenty of structure and length, but the freshness is well-balanced with the impressive level of extract. This wine will be better after a few years in the bottle and should age for decades. Bouchard’s four-hectare plot in thin white marl soils at the top of the hill consistently delivers grapes of concentration and bracing tension. Drinking Window: 2025-2055. (May 2022)"
94 points Bruce Sanderson (Wine Spectator): "[$300 list] This is all muscle, no fat, with bracing acidity piercing flavors of pear, lemon, stone and baking spices. There's enough flesh for balance, and the lasting impression is of pastry and toasty oak accents. Should settle down in a year or so. Best from 2026 through 2033. (5/8/24)"
92-94 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2021 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru unwinds in the glass with aromas of pear, crisp yellow apple, white flowers, freshly baked bread and toasted nuts. Full-bodied, taut and chiseled, it's unusually concentrated, with a bright spine of acidity and chalky structuring extract. It's a standout of the range and well worth seeking out. (Jan 2023)"
Bill Nanson (Burgundy Report): "(300m height, 3.85 hectares at the top of the hill, just above their Les Corton, east oriented with rows planted north-south, the intention being to preserve freshness. ‘It’s important to wait for the maturity here.’) Broader, not deeper but what precision of aroma – yes – perfumed too – double yes!! Such impressive scale in the mouth yet a wine that’s completely open and hiding any structure – ethereal yet so mouth-filling. Slowly becoming supple and broad – ultimately with clarity and growth of finishing flavour – grand vin! (Jan 2023)"
