94-95 points Stuart Pigott (JamesSuckling.com): "Stunning nose of Mara des Bois strawberries! Wonderful balance of ripeness and ample fine tannins with a lively acidity that gives this a long graceful finish. I love the touch of rose there. From 3.3 hectares on a high terrace with clay-rich soil. (6/30/23)"

93 points Charles Curtis, MW (Decanter): " In the words of technical director Fédéric Weber, the 2022 Clos de la Mousse is 'the archetype of Beaune,' with its beautifully expressive mulberry and black cherry fruit and hints of bay leaf, pepper, and smoke. The texture is firmly tannic and structured but not heavy or astringent. There was a single night of cold soak before fermentation, and then the fermentation slowly began, with 40% of the grapes as whole clusters. Extraction was very soft, with almost no punching down. The result is tremendously good, with a lingering finish, notable balance, and impressive depth of flavour. Drinking Window: 2027-2055. (5/30/23)"

90-93 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "A little paler in colour, though not racked, with more red fruit, an attractive more savoury note, even fruit spread across the palate, enough acidity to finish with few tannins in sight. Another version was paler at the edges, a richness of fruit at the front of the palate, and a more gravelly texture behind. Crunchy fruit with some grip. This version, aged in amphora, was never sulphured yet vibrant, and will be blended in to the regular version. Scored for the main version. (Oct 2023)"

92 points Christy Canterbury, MW (TimAtkin.com) (2024).

90-92 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2022 Beaune 1er Cru Clos de la Mousse offers up aromas of dark berries, baking chocolate and spices, followed by a medium to full-bodied, deep and fleshy palate that's chunky and youthfully structured, in keeping with this clay-rich soil that reliably produces seriously age-worthy, albeit less polished, wines. (1/18/24)"

90-92 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2022 Beaune Clos de la Mousse 1er Cru comes from more clayey soils that obviate hydric stress. Very floral on the nose, I appreciate the purity of fruit: lovely red cherries and crushed strawberries, more Pinoté than the Les Teurons. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, quite sweet and a little confit-like but with fine structure towards the finish. It just needs a couple of years to absorb the new oak. Very fine. Drink: 2026-2038. (Jan 2024)}"
