90-92 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "Notes of elderberries, plums and cassis mingled with creamy spices and black truffle introduce the 2020 Savigny-lès-Beaune Les Grands Liards, a medium to full-bodied, deep and concentrated wine that's lively and penetrating. This is always one of the more muscular, less ethereal wines in the range, and its track record for developing in bottle is excellent. (1/20/22)"
90-92 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2020 Savigny-lès-Beaune Les Grands Liards has a lifted bouquet with red cherries, a touch of blackcurrant pastilles and violet, pure and nicely focused. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy tannins, a fine bead of acidity, quite taut and linear at the moment with a saline finish. Give this 4-5 years in bottle. Drink: 2025-2038. (Dec 2021)"
90+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2020 Grands Liards is a very good bottle in the making, and the 13.9 percent octane does not come accompanied by any sense of sur maturité on either the nose or palate, just a rock solid core of fruit and plenty of structural conviction. The bouquet is really very lovely, offering up scents of cassis, dark berries, roasted pigeon, dark chocolate, Savigny spice tones and a topnote of bonfire. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and concentrated at the core, with firm tannins, tangy acids and lovely purity on the long, chewy finish. This will need a full decade or so before it even starts to blossom. 2030-2070. (Nov/Dec 2021)"
