94 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "I love the style and shape of the 2021 les Vergelesses from Chisa Bize. The wine is not overly powerful in profile, but deep, intensely flavored, soil-driven and supremely elegant. It will be a magical addition to any well-stocked cellar, if one is lucky enough to find any in the market. The bouquet wafts from the glass in a very complex blend of sweet dark berries, black cherries, coffee bean, a complex base of minerality, pigeon, woodsmoke, sweet stem tones and a deft touch of cedar. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and seamlessly balanced, with a superb core, fine-grained tannins, excellent complexity and grip and a long, focused and very classy finish. Simply a beautiful bottle. 2033-2085. (Nov 2022)"

91-94 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2021 Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Aux Vergelesses unwinds in the glass with aromas of plums, red berries, sweet spices and orange rind. Medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, it's thick and textural, with melting tannins and an orange-inflected finish. (1/31/23)"

90-93 points/'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "A cooler, airy and perfumed nose freely offers up aromas of the essence of red pinot fruit, newly turned earth and a pretty array of floral elements. The medium weight, focused and relatively powerful flavors possess an positively gorgeous texture while delivering excellent depth on the more persistent and better-balanced finale. This is lovely though as is usually the case, a wine that is going to require extended keeping. Drink: 2031+. (Apr 2023)"

90-92 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2021 Savigny-lès-Beaune Les Vergelesses 1er Cru has a pleasant nose with open-knit, brambly red fruit, bay leaf, tea leaves and light tertiary scents. Nice cohesion. The palate is well balanced with crisp tannins and is fairly spicy thanks to the whole bunches. It's saline in the mouth with a slightly garrigues-like finish. This is "old school" Savigny in the best sense of the word. Drink: 2024-2034. (Jan 2023)"
