The wine is deep and rich, with a fairly fierce tannic grip, yet it has immense potential for ageing. From a 1.6ha holding on southeast-facing slopes on the Pernand side, this is arguably Savigny's greatest site. The fruit is fermented mostly as whole clusters, with extraction by punching down and pumping over before ageing in used casks. Drinking Window: 2025-2040. (5/23/21)"

The palate is medium-bodied, fine finesse here, a silver bead of acidity with a precise and vivacious finish. This is a great Savigny in the making from one of its best vineyards. Drink: 2026-2048. 93+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2020 Domaine Bize Vergelesses is another beautiful wine in the making, but as Madame Bize noted, it will need a few more years in the cellar to emerge from behind its youthful structural chassis. The bouquet is splendid, wafting from the glass in a mix of dark berries, black plums, bitter chocolate, pigeon, a touch of violet, a complex base of soil, a touch of sweet stem tones, vanillin oak and a topnote of currant leaf. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and tangy, with a great core of black fruit, firm, chewy tannins and impressive backend mineral drive on the long, tangy and youthful finish. 2035-2090. The suave, round and relatively supple medium-bodied flavors that immediately firms up on the grippy but balanced finish where a touch of bitter cherry pit slowly emerges. This will also need time as it's presently robust, compact and grumpy. With that said, there is excellent development potential here. Drink: 2032+. (Apr 2022)"
