93+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "Chisa Bize’s 2020 les Talmettes is really special this year, as the wine has absolutely excelled in this vintage. Madame Bize notes that Talmettes and Vergelesses share very similar soils, but the expositions of the two vineyards is quite different, and much of their varying personalities can be attributed to Vergelesses far more exposed to north winds and hence, far more structurally unforgiving in its youth than the Talmettes. In any case, the 2020 Talmettes is simply gorgeous this year, offering up a very refined bouquet of black cherries, cassis, coffee bean, gamebird, currant leaf, a beautiful base of dark soil tones and just a touch of new wood. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and very detailed out of the blocks, with a lovely core of fruit, excellent transparency and grip, fine-grained tannins and a long, tangy and perfectly balanced finish. 90-92 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2020 Savigny-lès-Beaune Les Talmettes 1er Cru has a little more fruité and opulence compared to Bize’s other Premier Crus from this appellation, more forward and showier. The palate is medium-bodied with saturated tannins, brittle in texture with a fine bead of acidity and a sense of symmetry towards the finish. Moderate length. This is will appeal to those who like their Savigny with a dash of pizzazz. Drink: 2025-2038. (Dec 2021)"

89-92 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "A more discreet though still relatively prominent wood and menthol character suffuses the aromas of black raspberry, warmth earth and pretty array of floral nuances. The medium weight flavors possess a beguiling texture and evident minerality on the robust, powerful and raspy finish. This isn't especially refined but it doesn't lack for character - at least some patience will be necessary here as well. Drink: 2030+. (Apr 2022)"
