91-93 points & ‘Sweet Spot Outstanding’ Allen Meadows (Burghound): “Prominent nuances of mineral reduction are joined by notes of acacia blossom, just sliced citrus, white pepper and shellfish. There is fine mid-palate density to the even stonier middle weight flavors that also possess a refined texture before culminating in a solidly powerful finish that isn't quite as dry as that of the Montmains but is even more persistent. Good stuff.Drink 2029+. (Oct 2024)”

91-93 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2023 Chablis Vaillons Vieilles Vignes 1er Cru comes from 60-year-old vines and is aged in stainless steel on the lees. It has a lovely nose with citrus fruit, hints of white mushroom and a light almond scent. Fine delineation. The palate is vibrant and fresh, quite steely like the Montmains. Yet, this develops a tad more complexity and grip on the finish. Lovely. Drink 2026-2042. (06/24)."

90-93 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Planted 1950s/1960s. Slightly yellower in colour. A broad nose not yet showing the detail. Quite a powerful core of fruit, more floral than usual, a useful citrus underlay, with fine persistence. Fine long finish Drink from 2027-2032. (06/24)."

91 points Kristaps Karklins (Wine Advocate): "The 2023 Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons Vieilles Vignes, from the Vaillons lieu-dit itself, faces west/southwest, and was matured entirely in stainless steel. But unlike Montmains, it is more demonstrative and generous and soars from the glass with notes of pear, tangerine zest and beeswax mingling with oyster shell. On the palate, it’s medium to full-bodied, charming yet tensile, layered and laden with tangy acidity, concluding with a long, saline finish. As expressive as its youthful aromatics may be, this wine always rewards patience. Drink 2025-2039. (03/06/25)."
